Parc Fermé Changes
Parc Fermé restaurant has added a few enticing new treats to their already diverse repertoire. You can sip on a selection of expertly paired gins while relaxing with a hookah pipe, which is now available for hire.
The restaurant, in Maude Street Sandton, has always had something of the unusual to offer its visitors. With its careful blend of African culture and an outstanding African fusion menu, it has delighted guests from all over the globe.
“We love people and we love seeing people relax and enjoying themselves. Not only are we creating a vision of a venue that provides exceptional food, but one where the atmosphere speaks to relaxation, and maybe even far off exotic lands,” explains Leon Labuschagne, Manager of Parc Fermé.
The menu boasts food from across Africa and Mauritius, skilfully prepared by Chef Atmaram Mahadea, who has masterfully blended the flavours and traditional food found on the continent. Shisa nyama shares the menu with assorted egusi with gari and the traditional South African milk tart has its place among the desserts along with the Nigerian puff-puff. And if what you fancy is not on the menu, the chef will be happy to create it for you as Parc Fermé operates a flexible kitchen.
Extraordinary gin selections add to the adventure. From eleven o’ clock each day, choose from four different combinations – Apple Pie, Gin Marsala, Cookies and Gin and Tropical Gin – for a different flavour to tickle the taste buds.
“We’ve also introduced the ever popular ‘hubbly’ – also called a shisha or hookah – to the restaurant. You can now hire the shisha at R150 and each refill will cost R50. Of course, these are available in designated smoking areas only,” says Labuschagne.
The restaurant has also acquired several art works recently by up-and-comer Simphiwe Mlangeni, which has just added to the overall ambience of the restaurant. The venue is ideal for informal meetings, gathering of friends and intimate lunches or dinners. While it has always had the sparkle of glamour, Parc Fermé has just become a little more exciting.
