Meet Chef Atma, DAVINCI’s new Executive Chef.

Originally from Mauritius, chef Atma’s culinary passion began in his home country almost 20 years! From the white sands of Mauritius, Atma headed to the tropical Island of Seychelles where he worked for the Beachcomber group and Constance group for 6 years, gaining a lot of experience and knowledge from top French and Italian chefs. From there, Atma worked on a cruise ship for a year, before returning to South Africa.

Being from an island, Atma draws inspiration from the many flavours and spices he has become accustomed to, and ensures he adds an extra touch of International flair.

When asked why he chose to become a Chef, Atma advised that he was inspired to follow this passion after seeing his uncle serve as a chef in the police force. From here, Atma found a love and passion for cooking!

"Working with the international chefs made it easier for me to put my talent into practice here in south Africa and being here I have learned to work with local flavours and African influence" Says Atma

Atma has been with Legacy Hotels & Resorts for almost 12 years in various properties, and has had the privilege of cooking for celebrities like Prince Harry, and Floyd Mayweather.
