Have you ever really looked at the night sky?

Without the disturbance of light pollution, the milky way and many constellations can be seen from the Pilanesberg on a clear night, and Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge had recently introduced an electronic Unistellar Telescope for amazing stargazing evenings at the lodge.

This telescope allows guests to take photos of what the Telescope is pointing at with just a press of a button.

During these stargazing evenings, should the guest not want to use their phones for viewing, we have a display screen next to the Telescope whereby guests can also have a live view of what the Telescope is focusing on. The guide conducting the activity will then capture photos of objects using the Telescope as a camera. And these pictures will then be sent to guests should they also want photos of their star gazing experience at Kwa Maritane.

You can be part of this beautiful experience on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 20H00, for in-house guests only. Bookings are recommended, and stargazing activities are weather dependent.
